Recently I completed painting my first two battalions of Napoleonic
French by figure manufacturer Perry Miniatures. I've had quite a
bit of feedback from my photo article
about this project. One of the most frequent questions has been,
"How do Perry figures compare with such-and-such a manufacturer?"
So here are some photographs of three battalions of French, one
by Perry Miniatures, one by Front Rank and one by Foundry. Note
that even within each of these manfacturers' ranges there is variation
of figure size - for instance, the Foundry post-1812 French shown
here are bigger than their pre-1812 range.

First up, here are the Perry French. They are quite slim figures,
so I've based them closer together than the other two manaufacturers.

And here are the Front Rank French.

These are Foundry's post-1812 French.

And how do they all compare together? Well, click on the above panorama
shot to see. Front Rank on the left, then Perry Miniatures, and
Foundry on the right. This panorama is more useful for comparing
style rather than size, as it has been made by pasting together
three photos, so the scale may not be identical for each battalion.

Here you can see three bases compared - Foundry, Perry Miniatures
and Front Rank. This shot is more useful for comparing sizes.

A column made up of Front Rank (front), then Perry Miniatures, and
Foundry bringing up the rear.
I hope these photos help you decide for yourself whether the three
manufacturers work in together. Here's a last look:
