Introduction
Foundry Seven Years War
Russian Artillery
Fusilier Eric Veitl (our South of France correspondent) presents
two packs from the Foundry second Seven Years War release.
SYWR 9 : Medium Russian Cannon

Presented as five pieces to be assembled, this gun is nearly the same
size as that from Front Rank (1mm difference). The casting is average,
even if I would prefer more details on the wood on the wheels. If I look
carefully I can see that some nails on the mounting are badly placed -
between the wood and the iron. No tools, no canister basket.
For a long time I was waiting for Foundry guns (first master in the
middle 1990's!). My personal thinking is that at this cost (14.50 euros
- one gun) it is not good value. We can get the same quality for 30% cheaper.
SYWR 5 : Russian Gun Crew

I did two photos but they are in the same blister.
Six figurines:
1 officer pointing
1 gunner pushing the wheel
2 gunners working.
1 gunner doing nothing ( maybe it is him who is pointed out by the officer!)
1 gunner carrying a bucket of water .
The general casting is average. I will complain about the cartridge boxes
not as well casted than those of the Observation Corp.
Seeing gunners with their fusils on the back makes me think that the
battery is moving not firing. To be noted the artillery fusil is smaller
that the infantry one.
Price: 14.50 euro the blister. Well, it is good to have sets of gunners
purchased from different suppliers. It gives differents poses. Is it enough
to justify to buy this one at this price? I leave it to you..
